II.Required documents for timber imports

Import of endangered species such as redwood requires an Endangered Plant Import Permit.

III.Import conditions for precious wood products and derivatives
Precious woods such as redwood or their products and derivatives imported are classified as endangered species.In addition to normal customs clearance procedures in China,they are subject to restrictions under international treaties China has joined.Apply to the national endangered species import and export management department for the issuance of import and export permits.
IV.Quarantine requirements for imported timber:
Imported timber must provide an official Phytosanitary Certificate from the exporting country.
Imported timber must not contain pests or bark prohibited from entering the country.
Timber with bark must undergo effective control before entry,with detailed records of control methods,chemicals,duration,etc.noted on the certificate.
