Korean Cosmetics Import Customs Clearance: Case Study Success

2) Product Names and Service Content: The shipment mainly includes facial masks and night creams, transported from South Korea to Shanghai Port.We provided comprehensive services, including import customs clearance and domestic logistics distribution.

3) Document Requirements: To successfully complete customs clearance,a series of documents are required, including cosmetic approval certificates, certificates of origin, and translated labels.

II.Key Technical Challenges and Solutions

1) Trace Ingredient Issue: Before shipping the cosmetics,we reviewed the documents provided by the client and found that the trace ingredients were not listed on the original packaging labels, which did not match the ingredients on the import cosmetic filing certificate issued by the National Medical Products Administration.Based on our operational experience, customs inspection typically requires packaging ingredients to match the approval requirements. Therefore,we promptly notified the client to coordinate with the supplier to modify the outer packaging, successfully avoiding the risk of cargo rejection.

2) Weight Information Error: During the customs clearance process,we discovered that the weight information on the certificate of origin provided overseas did not match the packing list andthe weight on the documents. We identified and addressed this issue promptly, advising the client to instruct the supplier to hold the shipment until the certificate of origin was corrected. This prevented customs clearance delays and additional storage costs.

III.Required Documentation

1) Documents Required from Overseas: Including the original certificate of origin, ingredient composition and ratio table, production date certificate, original foreign-language packaging or scanned copies with translations, packing list, contract, bill of lading/waybill,invoice,and wood fumigation certificate (if wooden packaging is used).

2) Documents Required Domestically: Including scanned copies of the business license, blank A4 paper with company seal, customs and inspection authorization letter and code, foreign trade operator filing scan, consignee and consignor information, manufacturer filing login and query numbers, paperless signing + single-window tax payment system.

The success of this case is reflected not only in the efficient completion of customs clearance but also in the timely and accurate handling of various unexpected issues, all based on our companys years of industry experience and professional expertise.Additionally, this case serves as an excellent reference for clients with similar needs, demonstrating what a complete and successful import customs clearance process should entail. This requires not only meticulous preliminary preparation but also thorough foresight and contingency measures for potential issues.
